SIMPLE PAST

Verbos Regulares
Verbos irregulares
- Afirmações
As frases afirmativas com verbos irregulares se compoem do sujeito+passado simples do verbo:
- I saw (eu vi)
- She said (ela falou)
Interrogações (regulares e irregulares)As interrogações no simple past pedem ajuda do auxiliar DID (passado de DO) + a forma normal do verbo:
- Did you drink? (Você tomou?)
- Did she sleep? (Ela dormiu? )
*Note que quem está no passado é o auxiliar DID, o verbo principal continua na sua forma básica.
NegaçõesAdiciona-se o DID+NOT (didn’t) após o sujeito (serve para todas as pessoas):
- You did not drink. (Você não tomou.)
- She did not sleep. (Ela não dormiu.)

PAST CONTINUOUS

Afirmativa: was verbing , were verbing => to be (Simple Past) + verbo principal no gerúndio.

We were working hard during the campaign.

She was dancing when you played that song.

Negativa: Adicione "not" depois do verbo auxiliar. was not verbing , were not verbing

He was not listening to what you were saying.

We were not fighting when she came.

Interrogativa: Inverta o verbo auxiliar e o sujeito.

Were you sleeping when I rang the bell?

Was she working during the exibition last night?

USED TO

Conceito: Em Inglês, o verbo use, é conjugado no particípio como used. A tradução é óbvia, usar ou aproveitar.
Quando se usa: Nós usamos 'used to' para alguma coisa que acontece regularmente no passado mas já não acontece mais.
Exemplos:
I used to study in the library.
I used to play the guitar.
I used to live in Nova York.
He used to study English.
We used to go out together.
She used to eat cupcakes in the breakfast.
My family used to travel on summer.
The students used to listen the teacher.
Qual a diferença entre USED TO E DIDN'T USED TO? O 'used to' é algo que eu costumava fazer, é positivo, e o 'didn't used to' algo que não costumávamos fazer, é negativo.
